의류학과

이탈리아 밀라노의 Istituto Marangoni에서 패션 디자인을, Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera에서 무대미술(무대의상)을 전공하며 유럽 공연예술 기반의 무대의상 디자인을 심도 있게 연구한 바 있다. 또한 국내에서 피아노를 전공한 음악적 감각과 배경을 바탕으로, 시각예술과 시간예술에 대한 깊이 있는 통찰을 토대로 이를 창조적으로 해석하여 디자인으로 구현하는 무대예술가로서 독자적인 예술 영역을 구축해왔다. 이러한 학문적 기반을 토대로 이탈리아를 비롯한 국내외 무대에서 활동하며, 무대의상 디자이너로서 연구와 실무를 병행하고 있다. 특히 국내 발레 분야에서 전문 공연 무대의상 디자이너로 활동한 1호 사례로서 해당 영역을 개척해왔다.

무용, 오페라, 뮤지컬, 창극 등 다양한 공연예술 장르 전반에서 작품의 서사와 캐릭터를 시각적으로 구현하는 의상 디자인을 수행하고 있으며, 공연의 특성과 신체 움직임을 고려한 기능적 의상 설계와 특수체형 연구를 지속하고 있다. 또한 국내외 주요 프로덕션 및 저명한 안무가·연출가들과 협업하여 대형 공연 프로젝트에 참여하고 있다.

She studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan and Stage Design (Costume Design) at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, where she developed a strong foundation in European performing arts–based costume design. In addition, based on her background and musical sensibility developed through piano studies in Korea, she has established a distinctive artistic practice as a stage artist who creatively interprets and translates insights from both visual and temporal arts into design.

Building on this academic foundation, she has been actively working across Italy and Korea, integrating research and professional practice as a stage costume designer. Notably, she is recognized as one of the first professional stage costume designers in the field of ballet in Korea, contributing to the establishment of the discipline.

Her work spans a wide range of performing arts genres, including dance, opera, musical theatre, and Korean traditional opera (changgeuk), focusing on visual storytelling that articulates narrative and character through costume. She continues to conduct research on functional costume design and diverse body types, addressing the physical demands and movement of performers. In addition, she has collaborated with major production companies as well as renowned choreographers and directors on large-scale productions.

패션과 공예를 기반으로 주얼리 디자인 및 지속가능한 업사이클링 디자인을 연구하고 있다.

프랑스 파리 Haute École de Joaillerie에서 정통 주얼리 제작과 디자인을 수학하고, 영국 런던에서 컨템포러리 주얼리와 실험적 디자인 교육을 이수하며 전통적인 제작기법과 현대적 디자인 방법론을 폭넓게 경험하였다. 이후 이화여자대학교 대학원에서 공예디자인을 전공하며 패션·공예·주얼리의 융합 가능성을 연구하였다.

현재 주얼리 브랜드 ECLAT STUDIO(에끌라스튜디오)의 대표이자 디자이너로 활동하며 디자인 기획, 제작, 브랜딩, 유통 및 전시까지 브랜드 실무 전반을 수행하고 있다. 국내 주요 백화점과 다양한 유통·전시 프로젝트를 통해 패션주얼리의 산업적 확장 가능성 또한 지속적으로 탐구하고 있다.

특히 의류와 다양한 소재를 새로운 방식으로 재해석하는 친환경 업사이클링 주얼리와 지속가능한 디자인에 관심을 두고 있으며, 디자인 아이디어가 실제 제품과 브랜드로 발전하는 과정을 중심으로 실무와 창작을 연결하는 교육을 진행하고 있다.

With a background in fashion and craft, her research focuses on jewelry design and sustainable upcycling design.

She studied traditional jewelry making and design at Haute École de Joaillerie in Paris, France, and later completed training in contemporary jewelry and experimental design in London, gaining broad experience in both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design methodologies. She subsequently pursued graduate studies in Craft Design at Ewha Womans University, where she explored interdisciplinary possibilities across fashion, craft, and jewelry.

She is currently the founder and designer of ECLAT STUDIO, a jewelry brand through which she is involved in the full spectrum of professional practice, including design planning, production, branding, distribution, and exhibitions. Through projects with major department stores in Korea, as well as various retail and exhibition initiatives, she continues to explore the potential for expanding fashion jewelry within the industry.

Her particular interests lie in eco-friendly upcycled jewelry and sustainable design, reinterpreting garments and diverse materials in new and creative ways. Her teaching connects professional practice with creative exploration, focusing on the process through which design ideas are developed into tangible products and brands.
